So little time, so much to write.First of all, guess some family of mine want to read the blog as well, so I'll be switching to English from now on.
Eventually, we were able to meet my uncle and cousin, which was quite fun. We had a big lunch, some chitchat and went back on our way. The day ended pretty quickly with us walking around aimlessly. The other day I got bitten by some Teenage Mutant Ninja Mosquito, itches like a bitch and looks even worse. It actually doesn't look that bad on the picture, it was a bit more swollen in real life. Anyway, it's been a few days already and most of the icky spots are gone already.
At the airport we spewed our last Singapore dollars we had on Burger King, got some other small stuff and boarded the plane. We were seated at the emergency exit, so we had more leg space. Which sounds good in theory, in practice though, the emergency exit is located near the toilets. As a result, every freaking passenger passed besides us and had to wait in front of us (taking our leg room) for they could take a piss. It's unbelievable how many people don't know how to open the toilet door, btw.
Ehm, some other funny things about the flight. The 3rd chair in our row was occupied by a cute (but very fugly) and very timid Japanese chick.
She bowed every time you did something. And at I got a US$75 voucher because my TV was supposedly dysfunctional. Not only did my TV work, I got a free massager-thingie worth 72 bucks. Woohoo. Anywayz, on the picture you see Erwin beating my sorry ass at Tetris. The first two days in Auckland, New Zealand, have been pretty uneventful. Just some resting and figuring out what we're going to do over here. For the third day, we rented a car and started our 4-day trip to the north of Auckland. Not really sure what to expect but the first day (yesterday) was already amazing. The weather's weird tho, great sunny days, with little pissy showers in between. After picking up the car we went to buy some groceries and we met the world famous cricketteer Shane Bond! OMG Shaaaane Bond. No clue who he is, but we told him we were a big fan and we really liked how he was always making those touchdowns and stuff.
After the groceries and Erwin adjusting to driving on the left we headed to Whangerei, some town up north. The town itself was boring ass, but we stopped to rest a bit and find a hostel for that night. The fun stuff started from there, we went to Ocean Beach (about a 30 minute drive) . The view is soooooooooo amazing there. Beach, mountains, trees all coming together. Just some random pictures to give you an idea.
